I'm off!

I leave for my trip around the world today!

Today is the day that I leave my city of Mississauga and start my dream trip around the world! I am very excited and I have always wanted to do something like this. I have wanted to travel around the world for a very long time and I can't believe that I’m going to do it now. I am going to be vising three regions on my dream trip which include; Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Africa. Within these three regions I am going to be visiting 3 countries. Within Western Europe I plan on going to France, Germany and Austria. In Eastern Europe I plan on travelling to Romania, Ukraine and Poland. In Africa I plan on visiting Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. I can’t wait!

Toronto, Canada to Paris, France

July 1st, 2012

I pack my bags and head to the Toronto Airport. I have gotten a flight a one way flight from Toronto to Paris for $1006.12. The airline that I would be taking is British Airways. The class of the flight is economy. The flight is $724.00 and there is $282.12 in taxes. I would leave July 1st, 2012 at 6:55 PM and arrive in London at July 2nd, 2012 7:05 AM. From London, I have taken a connecting flight to Paris which leaves at 1:45 PM and arrives in Paris at 4:05 PM. From Toronto to Paris, my flight was 15 hours and 10minutes.

The hotel that I would be staying at in Paris would be the Balladins Moissy-Cramayel. This is the cheapest hotel that I could find. They have rooms from $48.67 CAD a night. The hotel has buffet breakfasts every morning. There’s a complimentary newspaper in the lobby. There's free Wi-Fi in the public areas. The front desk is open 24/7 and it has just been renovated in August 2011. I went straight to my hotel when I got off my flight and took a rest.

So since I have stayed there for four days, I will be charged for four nights. There is a $3 applicable tax for every night that you stay. The room that I was able to get was a standard queen room for four nights. For four nights in the hotel it is $194.68 and there is $13.64 in taxes. Bringing the total for the whole week to $208.32.

As for the sightseeing, there were countless things that I could have done. The places that I have gone to in Paris include: The Eiffel Tower (obviously), Orsay Museum, and Arc de Triomphe. Firstly, I visited the very popular Eiffel Tower the very next day on July 3rd which is located at 5, quai Anatole France. There I went up to the top and enjoyed the wonder view and the skyline overlooking Paris. I had lunch there also. At the Orsay Museum, which is located at 62, rue de Lille, I looked at so much art that I was blown away. It has the largest collection of the world's impressionist artwork in it. I went there on July 5th. On July 7th I visited the Arc de Triomphe which is located on Place de l'Etoile. The structure itself is beautiful and you can get another nice view form the top of it. The next day, I packed my bags and I head to the airport for my flight to Berlin.
