Warsaw, Poland to Cairo, Egypt

July 31st 2012

As usual I got all of my bags and things and I headed to the Warsaw airport. The flight that I was able to book was a one way trip from Warsaw to Cairo, Egypt. The cost of the flight that I was able to find was a total of $633.80. The airline that I flew with was Turkish Airlines. The class of the flight that I flew was economy class. The actual price of the ticket itself was $493.00 and there was a service fee of $12.00. The taxes for the flight that I took were $128.80. The flight had one connecting flight in it. I left the Warsaw airport at July 30, 2012 1:05 PM and I arrived in another country for my connecting flight. The country that I arrived in was Istanbul and I arrived there at July 30, 2012 4:35 PM. I left Istanbul and departed for Cairo at July 21, 2012 12:25 AM. I finally arrived at Cairo at July 31, 2012 1:40 AM. The total time of my flight was 12 hours and 35 minutes.

The hotel that I stayed in at Cairo was Horizon Pyramids Hotel. I think this hotel was the most prestigious hotel that I have been to thus far on my trip. It is a four star hotel and because of that it came with many features. There were two restaurants that I could go to at the hotel. There was a swim-up bar and an bar/lounge that were open for drinks, room service that was available 24/7, it had small waiting rooms, a technology support staff, technology help desk and complimentary Wi-Fi that was available in public areas. It has a banquet facility and conference rooms as well. It also had fancy things like wedding services and Limousine services. Also, the total renovation to this hotel was completed in March of 2009.

I stayed at the Horizon Pyramids Hotel for four nights like usual and therefor that was how long I was charged for. I was able to get a single economy room. The price per night at the hotel that I was able to get was a very cheap price for the hotel rating and the price per night was $29.65 a night. The total for the room for the four nights was $118.60 and there were $28.48 in taxes.

The three sightseeing itineraries that I went to go we at Cairo were seeing Keops Pyramid, Al-Tannoura Egyptian Heritage Dance Troupe, and Mohamed Ali Mosque. The first thing I wanted to go do in Cairo was of course see the world renowned Pyramids. I went to go see Khufu's Pyramid (translated to Keops in Greek) and it was the only remaining ancient wonder of the world. The pyramid was probably one of the most breath taking things I have seen on my trip around the world so far. The next thing I went to go see the day after was to go see the Al-Tannoura Egyptian Heritage Dance Troupe. It was a group of dancers who did a great performance. It was a spectacular show and I definitely would not forget it. The last thing I went to go see was a holy place, the Mohamed Ali Mosque. And no, it's not a mosque named after the famous boxer. Mohammad Ali Pasha was the man who built this place and it was named after him. The mosque was supposed to imitate the great mosques of the Ottoman Empire, it was built between 1824 and 1857. After spending 5 days in Egypt for the first time, I got ready to leave for Tunisia the next day.
