Cairo, Egypt to Tunis, Tunisia

August 4th 2012

After I had a nice four days in Cairo I got all of my belongings and I headed to the airport. I was able to get a flight that was a one way trip from Cairo to Tunis, Tunisia. I was able to get this flight at a cost of $236.02. The airline that I flew with was EgyptAir and the class of my flight was economy class. The actual cost of my ticket alone was just a mere $103.00 but there was a service fee as usual. The service fee was $12.00 and the taxes on my flight were $121.02. There was no connecting flight and it was it was a quick flight. I left the Cairo airport at Jul 31, 2012 10:15 AM and I arrived at the Tunis airport at Jul 31, 2012 12:45 PM. The total flight time was 2 hours and 20 minutes.

The hotel that I stayed in at Tunis was LE DIPLOMAT. This is the second four star hotel that I stayed in so far. This hotel has a large sized lobby, 24/7 room service, beauty parlour, and babysitting. The hotel was situated in the business district. The hotel had three different restaurants and one of them is able to accommodate up to 200 guests. The lobby has a high ceiling and it's decorated with marble floors and marble pillars. Also, the hotel was just 2 km away from the city centre.

At the LE DIPLOMAT I stayed for four nights as usual so I was charged for four nights. I was able to get a single standard room. The price per night that I was able to get was just $64.96. This is pretty inexpensive considering that it is a four star hotel. The total for the four nights that I stayed was $259.84. This was the only hotel that I have been to so far that did not charge tax. I paid $259.84 without taxes.

The three sightseeing places that I went to go see in Tunis were the Medina of Tunis, the Dougga and the Bardo Museum. The first place that I went to go see in Tunis was the Medina of Tunis. The Medina of Tunis is similar to the bazaars and souks of Morocco. It's a bunch of people selling stuff. You can buy rugs and carpets from there. The second place I went to go visit the next day was the Dougga. The Dougga is an ancient ruin that you can visit. The Dougga is a ruin of an ancient town which once had a capitol, a theatre and a mausoleum. The last place that I thing I went to go do in Tunis was go to the Bardo Museum. It is an art museum and it has spectacular Roman mosaics. I also saw ancient artifices along with beautiful paintings. After spending 5 days in Tunis I got ready to leave for my final destination which was Tangier, Morocco.

Tunis, Tunisia to Casablanca, Morocco

August 9th 212

After a nice 4 nights in Tunis I got ready and I left for the airport. The flight that I was able to get was a one way flight from Tunis, Tunisia to Casablanca, Morocco. The cost of this flight was $197.83 with tax and all. The airline that I flew with for this flight was Royal Air Maroc. The cost of the ticket itself was $132.00 and the taxes on the flight were $53.83. There was also a service fee as usual and that was $12.00. I left the Tunis airport at Aug 09, 2012 11:55 AM and I landed at the Casablanca airport at Aug 09, 2012 2:40 PM. The total fly time for me was 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The hotel that I stayed in at Casablanca was the HOTEL TRANSATLANTIQUE. This was another four star rated hotel that I stayed in. The hotel came with many features. These features included: a restaurant which serves breakfast and lunch, a bar which is open for drinks, room service which was available 24/7, small meeting rooms, audio/visual equipment, free Wi-Fi in public areas, and free parking. There is also a night club, laundromat and a cafe.

I stayed at the HOTEL TRANSATLANTIQUE for four nights. I was charged for that long. I price per night at the HOTEL TRANSATLANTIQUE that I was able to get was $64.84. The room that I was able to get was a standard single room. For four nights the price of the hotel came to $259.36. The taxes on the hotel were $25.92. This brought the total price to $285.28.

The three places that I went to go see in Casablanca were the New Medina of Casablanca, Hassan II Mosque and the Museum of Moroccan Judaism. The first place that I went to go visit was the New Medina of Casablanca. I have already visited a Medina on my trip. I went to one when I was in Tunis. I felt comfortable in there because I knew what to expect. I bought some stuff like spices and jewellery and I left. The next place I went to go visit was the Hassan II Mosque. I have visited a few churches and cathedrals but I have never visited a mosque before. The Hassan II Mosque was a very good example of portraying Moroccan architecture. It was also one of the only mosques in the city that allowed non-Muslims to visit. The last place that I went to go visit was the Museum of Moroccan Judaism. In the museums I saw many artefacts and artistic objects that represented the Moroccan Jews in history. It showed me the history, traditions and the religions of the Moroccans. After visiting and staying in Casablanca for four nights I got all of my belongings and I headed to the airport to go home.
